Let’s All Find A Way To Get Better

The summer heat hit me hard……

A community superhero that I looked up to passed away from Covid last week. 44 years young.

As of today, 153 Floridians lose their lives each day due to covid.

Friendships are being destroyed over communication flaws.

“Your wrong! I am right!”

We no longer know how to listen.

Anxiety and mental illness are at an all-time high. ( suicide prevention uint gets 86 calls a day in Pinellas County alone)

The local food pantry is bone dry. ( Dunedin)

Social media has dictated our thoughts, spending habits, and our emotional intelligence.

Our kids are consumed with devices, and when they don’t have a device in their hand…they need a fidget spinner.

The mass media is scaring folks to death.

We as a collective society have failed to critically think. We are too busy arguing and fighting. The biggest super bowl is being aired as we speak. We have to find a way to “get better.”

So how do we move above and beyond? Here are some examples we can use.

Let’s All Find A Way To Get Better

  • If you are into politics voice your opinion at your local city council meeting. Before you attend learn how to listen and hear outside opinions. And then learn how to debate. Yelling gets us nowhere.
  • Write your state representative.
  • Volunteer – Your community needs you. Don’t drive by that building every day bitching about the color of the paint…go paint it.
  • Tutor or Coach a kid. Or become an assistant and help the coaches.
  • Mentor and entrepreneur. Utilize your corporate knowledge to help a small business grow.
  • Help a neighbor. Someone on your block or in your apartment complex needs you.
  • Take time to question what you consume? Is it healthy?
  • Before you YELL….learn Abraham Lincoln’s art of the Hot Letters. Google “Lincoln Hot Letter”
  • Stop regurgitating memes…..I’d like to hear your thoughts?!
  • Take a deep breath.
  • Stop complaining…you’re killing yourself softly.
  • Cut your screen time in half.
  • Look up at the sky.
  • Work out or walk daily
  • Laugh again……

Focus on what you can control, let go of the rest!
