Escape with Raising Cadence
I recently caught up with Raising Cadence from Central Florida. The band has just released a new single along with a music video.
“Escape” This song made me want to instantly disconnect. It is one of those songs that get you thinking. Especially when the lyrics are so thought-provoking.
“I’m down to miss a call Throw away our phones I’m down to risk it all.”
“Would you risk it all? Would you risk it all just to see it all?”
This song is powerful because we are all living in an age where daily escapes are beneficial to the soul.
Escape with Raising Cadence
You guys have some amazing videos out. What do you enjoy more, recording new music videos or recording new albums?
Thank you! Both are great experiences but very different. Being able to create a song and bringing it to life in the studio is surreal. We work for months practicing our songs and playing them at shows. It is a very personal experience. Making a video is more out of our comfort zone. We are in front of the camera and have to act. There’s a tiny amount of pressure attempting to create a “cool” image, but we love to improv so it’s fun for us.
You have been hitting the scene pretty hard. Playing from Orlando to Tampa. Do you have any upcoming tours schedules?
Currently no but we do have plans to tour this fall. The last tour we hit New York City and a lot of major cities along the way. Our goal for this time around is to go North again but towards Chicago and back.
If you guys could play one local music festival which one would it be and why?
There’s actually a few we’ve been wanting to play. Sunfest, Hulaween, and Okeechobee are On the top of our list. They are multi-day, multi-genre fests that always bring together a great group of music lovers. We see them as great opportunities to grow our fan base in our home state.
What major festival would you like to play?
There are many major festivals we would love to play but Coachella and Bonnaroo are the top contenders. As with any festival, they are great opportunities for us to grow our fan base to music lovers who are more open to jamming to something new.
Besides festivals are there any events in Orlando and Tampa that have been on your radar?
We want to play Gasparilla In Tampa, Food and Wine Fest in Orlando (Disney and Seaworld), any special events in the theme park and tourist area of Orlando (conventions, festivals, holiday events). We also want to play all of the local venues in Orlando and Tampa whether it’s our own show or we are support or even as a cover act.
What inspired the new single?
For me personally, my current situation in life inspired our song “Escape”. The journey to acquire change, to be in-complacent, and understanding that there are no guarantees when starting a new adventure but knowing that it’s worth the risk.
What is the best way for your fans to connect with you?
We stay in touch with our followers through social media like Facebook and Instagram and our website. We like to stay as informative and entertaining as possible with upcoming releases, performance dates, and funny homemade videos. These platforms also give our fans the ability to connect with us directly, which we personally enjoy.
