Central Florida Entertainment: DJ Hoof

Central Florida Entertainment

I recently caught up with DJ Hoof and we spoke about his experience inside the music industry. DJ Hoof provides live entertainment along with creating custom mixes for his clients.

How long have you been in the music business? Over 20 years as a professional mobile, radio and club DJ.

How did you get your start? I bought DJ equipment with my high school graduation money. Initially, I began spinning fraternity/sorority parties as well as high school dances while I attended college. After college, those who hired me for and attended those fraternity/sorority parties began asking me to DJ their weddings.

What is your favorite engagement to play? My favorite gig is spinning for high energy nightclubs and watching the crowd go nuts on the dance floor. Often times, wedding receptions I DJ for often rival that energy level as well.

Besides packing the dance floor what other hobbies/activities do you enjoy? I love anything involving water. Whether it’s water skiing, water parks, snorkeling, float trips, parasailing, or chilling on the beach. If a body of water is involved, I’m game.

How long have you been making mixes for? Over 20 years.

What type of information would I need to submit to you for a custom mix? Artist and Title of the songs you want in the mix. The overall length you want the mix to be. A time stamp for any specific section of a song you want to be included.

Have you ever collaborated with another DJ or local musician on your custom mix? Yes, I’m good friends with Steve Roberts, a fabulous local singer, and drummer.
