Sound Check Your Next Event With These Easy Tips

You glance over at your boss and he gives you the look. You choose the wrong band. Wondering, why in the world would they play that song? How am I going to explain this? If only I would have booked a band when I was given the date of the event. By waiting until the last minute, I landed one of the most unprofessional bands.

When booking a band or a DJ for your corporate event, you should always implement plenty of lead time. Planning ahead is essential. Before diving in, check out our previous blog. “How to locate music for your corporate event.” This quick blog has a list of questions that will make your planning easy. Your next step is to make sure the band has experience playing events.

The majority of organizations employ a very diverse workforce. In attendance can be anyone from the age of twenty-two to sixty-eight. So you will want to find a band or DJ that has a variety of songs that can cater to all the employees. You want someone who dresses the part and plays the parts as well.

Here is a checklist that I created that will help you locate a band or DJ.

  • Does the desired band present themselves well online? ( Does their presence online match my desired outcome? )

  • Is their setlist and song selection diversified enough for my engagement?

  • Do their videos feature the look my event or wedding is going after?

  • Are there any online testimonials from brides, grooms, wedding planners or event coordinators?

  • Does their schedule state a bar band or an event band?

The best way to find music for your event is by doing a little research. If you are behind on time give us a call. We would be more than happy to serve as your Live Music guide.
